God Knows

We sometimes forget how intimately God is aware of and involved in our lives. He is neither surprised at what happens to us nor at our responses to life’s situations. That doesn’t mean we don’t have free will, and it doesn’t mean He isn’t saddened by our actions when we ignore or disobey Him. But it does mean that in anything we face, God has already seen the other side of it. Let’s reflect on a few aspects of this truth.

First, God has a plan for each of us. Jeremiah 1:5 says, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
God established Jeremiah’s life course before Jeremiah was even conceived. And out of the billions of humans alive today, he has a plan for each of us laid out. We may deny his plan and rebel against Him, but make no mistake. God does not wind us up and let us go like a model airplane. He has a perfect plan.
Second, God knows us, and He knows us completely in a way that we can never even know ourselves.
– Psalm 139:16 says, “Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”
 – Luke 12:7 says, “Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.”
– 1 Chronicles 28:9b says, “…for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.
”Finally, God is with us everywhere we go and whatever we do. No matter the problems we face or the circumstances we find ourselves in, be assured that he has not left us and right there with us. As David reflected in Psalm 139:8, “If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.” He is with us in the highest of high moments, and He is with us at our darkest times.
God wants to fulfill His plan for us, and He wants us to be confident that we are never alone. He knows us, and He longs for us to know Him.
In Him,
