Making Disciples who Make Disciples

We believe that effective disciples have a relationship with Jesus Christ
We encourage small group participation through Bible study
We desire to see disciples use their gifts for the Kingdom of God
We believe in proper stewardship of the resources that God has given us
We believe that disciples of Jesus are to be Great Commission focused and intentionally mission minded

We ‘re glad that you have stopped by to learn what we’re all about. We hope you see our passion for Jesus and His gospel. The love of Christ compels us to do what we do.

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20

The Church Library ministers to all ages: individuals and families in the church and community by providing resources to meet personal needs for leisure reading and deepening faith as well as for Bible study and discipleship groups.  All items are carefully chosen and evaluated for facts, scripture, doctrines, and age-level suitability.
The library is well established with over 15,000 items for all ages on a wide variety of subjects and in various formats: DVD’s, CD’s, Bible study kits for groups or individuals, large print books, picture books, and periodicals (The Baptist Record, SBC Life, Biblical Illustrator, Consumer’s Guide).   A computer is available for personal research.  Friendly, trained volunteers are ready to assist you during library hours.

Worship is our response to God’s initiative. It is His idea and it is all about Him. Worship services are planned scripturally to reflect what God is saying to us as a church and to give voice to the heart’s desire of His people to praise Him. We respond to Him corporately in different ways but always consistent with His Word. From contemporary, to more traditional, to blended services, we want to worship in spirit and in truth.

Students are energetic, creative, passionate, and just plain fun to be around. Our goal in student ministry is simply to help students take those positive traits and use them for the kingdom of God. Our students are involved in Bible studies designed to challenge faith to flourish and inspire Christ-likeness. We also have different avenues of ministry opportunities throughout the year for students to share the hope of the gospel. In addition we offer numerous opportunities designed to promote Christian fellowship and spiritual growth.

Our desire is to provide support and encouragement to parents while providing programs and activities that lay a strong spiritual foundation for children from birth to 6th grade. On-going preschool activities include Sunday School, Mission Friends, choir, Mother’s Day Out, Weekday Early Education, and nursery care during worship. Older children enjoy Sunday School, Discipletown (kids church), RA’s, GA’s, and choir.  Throughout the summer, kids can also enjoy VBS, Music Camp, Art Camp, Centrikid Camp, & other “Fun in the Son” activities.

Find your connection with God, His Word, and His followers in any of the multiple areas of discipleship that First Baptist Church offers.
Sunday School– our primary mode of small group Bible study.
Connection Groups– small groups that are interest driven and biblically based.
D Groups– small groups of 3-5 disciples who desire to grow deeper by committing to meet together weekly for a year to pray and study the Bible.
The Well– Women’s small group that meets on Thursday mornings.

The strategy of missions at First Baptist is to be a beacon of light in our community, preparing disciples, and sending those whom God has called out into the world through multiple mission opportunities locally, nationally, and internationally.

Watchman Prayer is our 24/7 prayer ministry. Our Watchman Prayer Wall consists of 168 prayer warriors, one for each hour of the day, 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. If you would like to be a part of this intercessory prayer ministry please contact the office.
